Wachet auf, ruft unsdie Stimme is one of the best know Chorale Preludes of J. S. Bach. The beauty of the work comes not only from its beautiful florid melodic writing, but also from its overall simplicity. Most of the time it is simply two-voice counterpoint; it is only at the entrance of the Chorale melody that it becomes three-voice writing. It is offered here as a special treat for hornists and can be played as a Horn Trio or with a Horn Choir.
